“Light and life to all He brings, risen with healing in His wings…”
Into the darkness of a broken world ravaged by pain, oppression, disease, hopelessness, and death, a Child was born. The writer John put it this way: “In him was life, and that life was the light of all humankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it” (John 1:4-5).
Ever since humanity turned away from God's love and become subject to that evil and brokenness, God never stopped pursuing us. He promised that one day, a Savior would come to set us free and begin the work of restoring our broken humanity. That promised one was this child, Jesus - the Son of God - lying in an animal feeding trough in a dirty shed that night in Bethlehem who had come down into our darkness and mess for us: God with us, God for us, The One who will restore all things.
This Christmas Eve and Christmas Morning, we will celebrate and remember the birth of Jesus, the Light of the world, through story and song. It doesn’t matter if you’re a member of our church or have never been to church in your life. We would love to celebrate this time of wonder, joy, and light with you!
